Publication Ethics

The Sufiya Journal of Islamic Studies regards publication ethics as a fundamental part of scholarly responsibility. Every manuscript submitted to the journal must be based on honesty, originality, accuracy, and respect for academic integrity. Authors are responsible for ensuring that their work is free from plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, redundant publication, and improper citation practices.

The journal requires all parties involved in the publication process to act responsibly. Authors must present their work transparently, acknowledge the work of others properly, and disclose any funding or conflict of interest that may influence the research. Research involving human participants, animals, personal data, or sensitive information must comply with relevant ethical standards, including ethical approval and informed consent where required.

Editors and reviewers are expected to handle manuscripts fairly, confidentially, and objectively. Editorial decisions are based on scholarly quality, originality, relevance, methodological rigor, and ethical compliance, not on the author’s personal background, institutional affiliation, nationality, religion, gender, or political views. Reviewers must provide constructive comments and disclose any conflict of interest before reviewing a manuscript.

The journal will take appropriate action if ethical concerns arise, including suspected plagiarism, duplicate publication, data manipulation, authorship disputes, undisclosed conflicts of interest, or other forms of publication misconduct. Such matters will be handled carefully, fairly, and in accordance with internationally recognized publication ethics principles, including the guidance of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
